Walking Experiences
Buenos Aires for curious people
Meeting point
Discover Buenos Aires from an anthropological point of view. Don’t expect to just walk and listen: be prepared to talk, ask questions, and discuss the past, present, and future of Argentina’s capital.
Beginning at Lezama Park and ending at Casa Rosada, this walk offers you the chance to explore this beautiful city through its historical past in an attempt to understand its present.
Who were the first inhabitants? Why were the British so interested in these shores? Where is the African-descendant population? Where did all these white people come from? What is the deal with Evita and Perón? Who were the ‘desaparecidos’ during the military dictatorship? And why do we have such a big problem with the US dollar?
These are just some of the many questions we will try to answer on our walk through the most historical part of town.
Itinerary: Parque Lezama – Monument to Don Pedro de Mendoza – Russian Orthodox Church – Swedish Church – “Club Atlético” Former Concentration Camp (Military Dictatorship) – Dorrego Square – San Telmo’s Market – Puerto Madero – Women’s Bridge – Casa Rosada (Pink House, President’s Office)
